Redjak are Specialist Contractors in the areas of Asbestos and other Hazardous Material Removal.
Asbestos is a fibrous mineral that resists chemicals and heat. When disturbed, the fibers become airborne, are inhaled through the mouth and nose and become embedded in the lungs. Asbestos is responsible for several serious diseases:
Strong, durable and fire resistant, asbestos was widely used in building materials prior to the mid-1980s. As a result, Australia’s infrastructure and buildings contain a lot of asbestos. Because the long-term consequences of asbestos exposure can be fatal, it is essential that the removal of Asbestos be done by an experienced, qualified contractor.
RedJak is a licensed asbestos removal contractor specialising in residential, commercial and industrial asbestos removal, disposal and cleanup. Our vehicles are EPA-approved for hauling and disposing of asbestos. Insured, licensed and in compliance with NCS International, we are one of Queensland’s premier ‘A Class certified’ asbestos removal contractors.
There are other factors that make us the preferred contractor for asbestos removal:
Licences
RedJak is licensed for A Class Asbestos Removal which means we can remove both non friable (bonded) and friable asbestos. Our business license details can be confirmed here www.deir.qld.gov.au/workplace/subjects/asbestos/licence-holders/index.htm
DERM Registration Dealing with hazardous materials, requires specialist trucks and transportation of such materials and wastes to regulated and approved disposal facilities. To execute such transportation requires the holding of government issued permits and registrations for all vehicles engaged in this level of activity. RedJak Services maintains regular registration with Department of Environment Resource Management (DERM)
AS4801 Certification
RedJak is certified Class A Asbestos Removalist and is AS4801 certified.
Under the new harmonised National Workplace Health and Safety regulations, Class A Asbestos Removalists require a safety management system certified to AS4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (AS4801:2001) in order to obtain their Asbestos Removal Licence (except in the Australian Capital Territory), A Class A Asbestos Removal Licence allows the licence holder to remove friable asbestos, non-friable asbestos and asbestos contaminated dust (ACD), while Class B licence holders are restricted to the removal of non-friable asbestos and any associated ACD.
